25 Indonesian Students from IISMA Arrive at UC Davis

UC Davis welcomed 25 students from 19 universities across Indonesia to participate in the Global Study Program as part of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program. The students represent a range of majors and will be taking UC Davis classes this summer and fall.

Student Spotlight: Ryotaro Okada

In 2019, Ryotaro Okada came to UC Davis with a dream. An ESL student from Ritsumeikan University in Japan, he dreamed of becoming a theme park designer in the United States. He applied to the Global Study Program, to bolster his English-language skills and gain the foundation he needed to study in the U.S.

Indonesian Scholarship Students Excel in UC Davis Global Study Program

Fall 2021 marks a momentous quarter for 17 students attending the Global Study Program at UC Davis. These students are part of the inaugural Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards program, launched and funded by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. This competitive and prestigious award provides well-qualified students from universities across Indonesia the opportunity to study abroad.

Epidemiologists trained in One Health—a comprehensive approach that recognizes the link between human health and the health of animals and our shared environment—are essential to preventing the next pandemic. UC Davis’ remote course, Epidemiology: The Core of One Health for Infectious Diseases, aims to meet that need.

Visiting International Students Participate in East Asian Studies Research Seminar

This spring, Chinese, South Korean, Japanese, and Hong Kong students from UC Davis’ Global Study Program have joined UC Davis undergraduate students in an East Asian Studies Research Seminar. The first offering of its kind, this course is a collaboration between International programs at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education and the East Asian Studies Department.
