25 Indonesian Students from IISMA Arrive at UC Davis

This summer, UC Davis welcomed 25 Indonesian students to participate in the Global Study Program. The students, who represent 19 universities from across Indonesia, are part of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program, which provides well-qualified Indonesian undergraduates the opportunity to enroll as visiting students in universities around the world. UC Davis was once again selected as a host university for 2022 and remains the only West Coast institution in the program.

Students were greeted at the UC Davis International Center by eager host families from Davis and Woodland on July 25, and they will be taking summer classes prior to registering for fall. The students are enrolled in a variety of UC Davis classes representing a diverse range of majors, including biology, communication, English education, food technology, IT, international relations, medicine, nutrition, psychology and statistics.

California state flag with student signatures on it

As part of their orientation, students signed a California state flag, which will also be incorporated into their departure ceremony in December. During their farewell event, students will write down a favorite memory or lesson learned, which will represent how much they’ve grown since they signed the flag on orientation day.
