UC Davis is home to more than 50 interdisciplinary teaching and research programs, including the Genome Center, the Center for Mind and Brain, California Lighting Technology Center, and the Sustainable Agricultural Research and Education Program. UC Davis, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008, has committed to a "Sustainable Second Century," developing interdisciplinary research on sustainability across a number of disciplines. The campus is known for both the strength of its programs in the Sciences—including Biological Sciences and Engineering—as well as its commitment to the Arts and Humanities. At the Mondavi Center, for example, world-renowned performers and guest speakers take the stage.
