UC Davis Response to COVID Keeps the Campus Community Safe and Healthy

UC Davis students are back on campus, with in-person instruction, clubs, athletics and events in full swing. And with the 2021 academic year well underway, COVID-19 safety remains top of mind.

Preventive Measures

Since the beginning of UC Davis’ asymptomatic testing program in September 2020, more than 1 million tests have been administered as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to prevent outbreaks and keep the campus and Davis community safe. The case positivity rate among people going through the asymptomatic testing program is below 1% and campus compliance with the University of California-wide vaccine mandate is 99%. While asymptomatic testing and mandatory vaccination are central to UC Davis’ COVID-19 mitigation efforts, students, staff and faculty have also embraced UC Davis’ required healthy behaviors—face coverings indoors and on mass transit, completion of the daily symptom survey, flu vaccine requirements, social distancing, contact tracing, and symptom monitoring and reporting.

Useful Resources

In addition to robust public health policies and requirements, UC Davis has also developed a wide array of COVID-19 resources for students and families, staff and academics, classroom instruction, campus visitors and volunteers, as well as timely and strategic text and email communications. UC Davis also has COVID-19 vaccine and flu vaccine clinics available to students and employees.

Students who have questions about COVID-related policies, public health guidance or general concerns regarding their transition to campus can also call the Aggie Info and Help Line. A service of the Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center, this new info line has trained student staff to provide support for non-crisis questions and referrals to campus resources.
