Spring is one of the best times to be at UC Davis—you can feel the energy shift across campus, particularly at Picnic Day, one of the longest-running university open houses in the country.

Picnic Day is uniquely UC Davis. From research demonstrations and student exhibits to “only at UC Davis” moments (such as the beloved Doxie Derby, an annual race featuring dozens of wagging, hilarious dachshunds), Picnic Day reflects the joy, impact and breadth of the university, as captured in our Picnic Day photo gallery

For our international students, it’s an opportunity to truly experience UC Davis—not just as a place to study, but as an energetic, welcoming community. Students make connections outside the classroom, engage with disciplines they hadn’t considered before, and develop a more complete picture of what UC Davis offers.

Looking Towards Summer

At the same time, we’re planning for an exciting summer.

Our Academic Preparation and Pathway Programs continue to evolve with new short, high-impact offerings. The four-week Entrepreneurship and International Business program, for example, gives students a practical, global perspective on innovation and markets. This reflects the changing needs and expectations of our students: Programs that are shorter, applied and connected to real-world skills.

Our Pre College at UC Davis program brings high school students to campus for immersive experiences that build confidence, academic readiness and a clearer sense of what’s possible. As more students look for early exposure to university life and future pathways, this program will continue to expand.

It’s an exciting spring, leading into an equally dynamic summer. We’re proud to share these UC Davis experiences with our international students and scholars.

As always, we welcome your partnership and are committed to helping your students achieve at UC Davis.
