UC Davis Changed My Life

As a student, I don’t think I really understood the university or its impact on the world. But post-graduation, I landed a job supporting our international programs. Every week my boss, former assistant vice provost Bob Kerr, greeted me with a smile and some wild story about the incredible research being done by UC Davis faculty.
“Did you know UC Davis saved chardonnay?”
“The gas you put in your car… That’s lead-free because of UC Davis!”
Bob helped me understand and appreciate what I was part of - a visionary group of scholars, faculty and alumni solving the agricultural, environmental and social problems facing the world.
That’s my story. How I fell in love with UC Davis and how this university changed my life for the better.
Now, as the leader of International and Access Programs, I work with a team of like-minded professionals who are privileged to share that passion for UC Davis with our students. The knowledge and satisfaction that when they leave UC Davis and head back to their home universities, they never really “leave” UC Davis. They’re connected to something important. Something larger.
They’re Aggies, and they can change the world.
