International students from Tokyo met online in the spring of 2021 while attending the remote UC Davis program Global Awareness and Intercultural Communication Seminar. Following the conclusion of the program, they decided to take their learning a step further and created their very own online project on global hot topics.
Ayu Kawashima, an undergraduate at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan, envisions starting a Model UN team at her university. After completing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Global Seminar, Kawashima is determined to play a role in shaping the future of Japan by promoting SDGs and working toward a more equal society.
In response to the current and future needs of global education, International Programs at UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education has partnered with Ritsumeikan University in Japan to launch Remote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Global Seminar to help undergraduate students enhance their global competencies and improve their English-language abilities.
