Perfect Your English In and Outside the Classroom

Our challenging and experiential college preparation programs empower students to perfect their English skills, both in and outside the classroom. Our curriculum builds confidence, encourages self-reliance and positions students to succeed in college. Activities, including program-specific field trips, are integrated into the educational experience.

Summer Youth Programs

Each two-week session offers a distinct topic of focus and allows students to practice their English-speaking skills and enhance their understanding of the language and culture. Programs combine a variety of in-classroom instruction, as well as engaging activities and field trips. Daily instruction consists of three 50-minute classes and includes presentations, lectures, group projects, discussion sessions and homework. Individuals and groups may apply for one session or multiple sessions.

English and Culture

Explore what makes the United States unique while learning and improving your English. Develop a better understanding of U.S. culture and gain confidence and skills in your ability to speak and understand English. Courses: U.S. Society and Culture, Everyday Expressions and Idioms, Communication Skills and Presentation Skills.

  • Improve English oral communication skills 
  • Gain an appreciation for cultural differences and understand their importance
  • Improve knowledge of American attitudes and values
  • Gain confidence with communicating solely in English
  • Practice important presentation skills and demonstrate confidence in giving presentations

English with Leadership and Team Building

Develop your collaboration and leadership skills and strengthen your English. Learn how to take a group of individuals and turn them into a cooperative team and guide them toward a common goal. Courses: Basic and Advanced Leadership Skills, Developing Teamwork, Communication Skills and Presentation Skills.

  • Understand the importance of communication in team building and leadership
  • Demonstrate how to openly communicate in English with a group in order to achieve a common goal
  • Engage in discussions about the U.S. government and political process
  • Improve decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Understand the qualities necessary to be a successful leader
  • Practice important presentation skills and demonstrate confidence in giving presentations

English and College Preparation

Learn how to become a successful college student and how to select the university and major that is right for you. Discover methods for improving your study skills and boost your English writing skills in preparation for college-level work. Courses: College-Level Writing, U.S. College Study Skills, Communication Skills and Presentation Skills.

  • Gain effective study skills and strategies for college in the U.S.
  • Improve oral communication skills and English writing skills to a college level
  • Examine various universities and colleges in the U.S. and the differences between them
  • Engage in critical thinking sessions and understand the importance of critical thinking
