Program Overview
The Global University Access Program (GUAP) is offered by SY Academy, a leader in the area of educational access for more than twenty (20) years. GUAP is an intensive, two-year program designed for international students who wish to improve their academic and language skills, better prepare for university life, and obtain transferrable credits/units for matriculation into UC Davis, or another UC campus based on the acquired cumulative GPA while in the program. UC Davis CPE-International hosts a GUAP cohort in the first quarter at UC Davis to better prepare them for their future academic successes through Academic Engagement Track (AET) before they transfer to a designated GUAP-associated community college in the Bay Area.
During the Fall Quarter (1st academic term), students enter a unique preparatory academic training program--Academic Engagement Track (AET)--to complete a series of:
- Four (4) on-campus AET courses in the Fall Quarter at UC Davis International Center
- Two (2) independent-study online community college courses
The students finally matriculate into UC Davis (or another UC or prestigious university in the United States) as junior-level (3rd year) students contingent upon meeting the following requirements:
- Successful course completion
- GPA
- Other transfer conditions
Through its strategic partnership with SY Academy, UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education is pleased to host GUAP students and provide them with high-quality, non-credit academic preparation support and successful completion of the program. UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education and SY Academy are pleased to welcome interested students to the Global University Access Program.

Student Success
100% of participants have been admitted to a UC school, including: UCLA, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara
