Academic and Professional Training for Professionals
Program Overview
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Pre-Academic Orientation and Training Program offers mid-career professionals from more than 100 designated countries, undergoing development or political transition, the opportunity for one year of non-degree academic and professional development in the United States. The program is also intended to:
- Promote mutual understanding and international goodwill among people
- Develop leaders who understand American values, models and ideas, which will have a multiplier effect on their societies
- Expand and improve the range of international exchange and training programs
- Increase U.S. citizens' knowledge and understanding of international issues, cultures and societies
Contingent upon final confirmation, the 12-week Humphrey Fellowship Orientation and Training Program will be funded by the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
To prepare Fellows for this experience, the University of California, Davis, Division of Continuing and Professional Education’s International programs are pleased and prepared to offer an integrated, intensive English pre-academic program that provides the incoming Humphrey Fellows not only English language refinement but also academic, cultural, social and professional orientation and training to equip them to interact comfortably in a variety of settings once placed in graduate-level programs at their year-long U.S. academic institutions.
We have 20 consecutive years of experience providing high-caliber, successful Humphrey 12-, 8- and 3-week Pre-Academic Orientation and Training Programs. We are delighted to continue this history of excellence by again being granted cohorts of 12- and eight-week pre-academic Humphrey Fellows.
