College Study Skills

Open to students entering grades 10-12 

Developing strong study skills in high school is key to a succeeding in college. Learn to apply smart study habits with this intensive, interactive course.

Your learning experience will be enhanced through interactive activities, presentations, discussion, written assignments, and individual study led by UC Davis instructors.

By the end of your two weeks with us, you will notice an observable improvement in your study skills, including: 

  • time management
  • critical thinking
  • communication

You and your fellow students will utilize these study skills as you move throughout the course, gaining valuable experience that will help you stand out from the crowd as you work towards your goal of becoming a college student. You’ll also have opportunities to identify and strengthen your leadership abilities, all while practicing strategies for becoming an effective and active learner in the college classroom environment.

Section Notes

This is a "Remote Classroom" format course- all instruction occurs face-to-face via Zoom online classroom. Technology is used to facilitate online activities, assess students (assignments, etc.), and deliver content. You will receive an email prior to the course start date with information on how to log into the online class portal.

 

Technical Requirements

  Students must have a computer with access to the internet and an email account in order to complete this course.  A headset with attached microphone is recommended.
